Oregon State University will be a visionary leader driving equitable, scalable and sustainable advancements in artificial intelligence education, research, knowledge translation and innovation, preparing the next generation workforce and partnering locally and globally in artificial intelligence technology development to empower societal change.
Vision: AI + Education
We teach about artificial intelligence to ignite a journey of discovery and innovation and prepare the next generation workforce. We prepare students for the future world of work where professionals will need to learn, analyze and model data, communicate, collaborate with others and lead — enabled by AI systems and tools. OSU is a leader in AI education in Oregon, the nation, and the world, with faculty and staff expertise in the most current AI tools and technologies. We leverage the Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex and public/private partnerships to provide transformational experiential learning opportunities in AI for all learners that OSU serves.

Our research is driven by a commitment to progress and practicality in artificial intelligence. OSU has foundational, applied and transdisciplinary research strengths across the university in artificial intelligence, data science and research computing infrastructure that will enhance and create higher impact of our scholarship, creative work, collaborations and research in all disciplines at OSU. We partner with business, industry, government, other universities and consortia using AI-enabled technology to support the development of big discoveries that drive big solutions and translate research into public goods via new methods, products and services.

We leverage artificial intelligence technologies for enhancing our outreach and partnerships to fuel a thriving world. We tailor solutions that contribute to the well-being and growth of individuals and industries across Oregon, the nation and the world.We engage communities to build resilient relationships, advance shared goals and prioritize sustainable futures in an AI powered economy. In partnership with local, national and global stakeholders, we co-create AI tools, programs and policies empowering learners and leaders alike to access OSU's cutting-edge resources, enabling the benefits of AI innovation to extend beyond our university to the wider world.
Vision: AI + Enterprise
We reimagine the way we work at OSU by leveraging artificial intelligence. We have an AI integrated approach to our operations, knowledge translation, innovation and partnerships that provides accessible tools for employees to harness AI capabilities in their work, improving productivity and enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness. We have AI specific procurement and oversight principles that embed AI usage recommendations into appropriate work policies. OSU policies and guidelines address bias, unequal access, security and risk management in AI tools and technologies and promote responsible, transparent, ethical and sustainable integration of AI systems.
